I have about 2 weeks before I go back. And I genuinly cannot wait. Everythings dragging so bad.

Like, no ones up for going out constantly. And I find entertaining myself incredibly difficult!

This holiday has made me realise something though - since starting college, I've totally left all my old friends behind ): like people who didnt even go to my school but I made time for.. But now when I think about my friend 'group' its made up of people from college, with a handful of others who come and go occasionally. No one else. Its a sad thought, but I guess its true, in life, people come and go, you outgrow friends, and you leave people behind ):

All of a sudden its like WOAH I'm growing up, I'm not a 'kid' anymore, I'm going to be at university next year D: its scary as FUCK. I don't want to grow up!! I don't want to be an adult.

I think I may have Peter Pan syndrome or something, because I can't handle responsibilty of any kind, and when ever anyone talks to me about the future I'm like, woaa slow downn!

I realise I'm only 17. And this is only college. But still. Its scary. I'm going to be living alone next year.. I'm going to be standing totally on my own two feet.

Scary thoughta right?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
Can you not wait to grow up and leave home? Or like me do you find it an incredibly daunting prospect?

4 He tells me all about America with out getting fed up.

3 He has funky hair. That is all.

2 Hes rather good to talk to about lots of different kinds of things.

And today I feel I should cover a rather broad subject matter 'The Ex Boyfriend' and 'The Breakup'.

We all have them.. (Unless your a heterosexual guy - in which case why are you reading this? Time to question your sexuality me thinks...), and they cause us all rather a lot of bother. Do we remain friends? Do I still have sex with him? Do I scream and holla at him? Do I trash his car/clothes/flat/shoes? Well, the answer to this comes down to the break up. Did it fizzle out over time leaving us both depressed? Did it end with my finding him in bed with someone else? Did it end with him [god forbid] ending things with me? The way we behave with our ex boyfriends all depends on the break up..

Take one of my exes for an example.. We were together for several months, and eventually, I felt the need to break up with him as I felt rather trapped. He wanted to get married and control every aspect of my life.. The entire time I was thinking Jeeze I'm not even anywhere near 18 yet! So this relationship ended in an inevitable slanging match, resulting in the dumpee stalking the dumper.. Not such a good break up.

But then again there ARE some great break ups where you find its not working out and you BOTH agree you want to be friends, I've had just one of these and I've got to say they are by far the best, you don't get as remotely hurt as you do normally, and you get to keep an awesome guy (well you must have thought he was awesome - else why'd you date him??) as a friend.

However.. The mutual split also has its problems.. It can leave you thinking, ''Wow what a great break u..Hang on..Did I just make a huge mistake'' followed by you seeing your boyfriend-turnt-ex-turnt-pal with his NEW girlfriend..which can be crushing.

So back on track..Ex boyfriends.. Some can be awesome as your friendship may have a better dynamic than your relationship, and some can be heart-wrenchingly difficult, and then theres the ones that leave you fuming and standing out in the middle of the street and he drives away..

Is there such a thing as a HEALTHY break up and a good ex boyfriend?

Maybe.. However they are an elusive pair, and you may get one but not necessarily the other, you may have a brilliant break up, but the injured party may be you ex, and may not wish to remain friends. Or you may have a terrible break up, and months later discover a friend in the other party.

 Comments

Blog time!

Intro

Today I wrote my first blog in a while, and realized I didn't give much of an update about anything apart from my eating habits, so here it is, a update on the life of ralph. You lucky lucky reader

College

Ok so, I'm nearing the end of my first year of college, and consequently the end of year exams >.<and lets just say I'm not all that prepared, I did rather badly in the AS January exams.. So lets just say.. stress?huge understatement..

Work

Um..still jobless.. Gotta say, the road of chill is rather good, however I did apply for a job at Harry Ramsdens..as a waitress..Awesome..:/ It may suck, But I need the pennies ready for summer break >,<so I can buy stuff..and go places (:

James

Well James and I are still together,, almost 4 months now.. However I'm beginning to feel that I put more into the relationship than he does.. I really do care about him, but I've got to admit I'm starting to wonder, is this all one sided?

:/

 Comments

Vegetarianism (:

So.. After much though I decided to become a veggie.. Mostly because the only meat I really eat is chicken. And partly because I feel so bad for animal suffering.

This was abouttt 6 weeks ago maybe?

So far, I've been doing great, aside from the fact.. I've had about 4 KFCs..

I just can't seem to help it, I wander past..Smell the original recipe skin.. and wander right on in.

But, once again, I've been thinking (dangerous I know ) And I have come to the conclusion that, maybe, 2 KFCs a month isn't too bad.. not really? Its a drastic reduction on how much I ate previously.. Its better for me, my pocket, and the chickens right? Well..only marginally.. Sometime in the future I plan on becoming a 'strict' veggie.. However I don't think that day is today. I think once the cravings for bacon have died down.. I will have better will power..

I must say.. That as a [rather bad] vegetarian, my reasons are a little atypical, this got me to thinking, about other peoples reasons for eating meat, being vegetarian and vegan... Aside from the fact that meat 'tastes good' and vegan and vegetarianism prevent animal cruelty and are healthier options.

Neither do I.

But what I do know is the figure is well into the thousands.

Before you make the decision to get a pet, make sure you CAN care for it, and also take the time and expense to get it spayed/neutered, as precaution to prevent yet more animals coming into the world unwanted.

If you DO choose to get a pet, how about going to a rehoming center?

Below is a selection of animal rehoming and rescue centers, these animals are in desperate need of a home. Please just take the time to have a quick glance and see the sheer volume of them, I'm not saying you've got to pick a pet and take it home, but just take a look, and maybe think about taking home a new friend:

anywayy, to get back on topic, arrived at college at 8.10am, had 2 lessons, finnished college at 1pm, went into town, was very hungry, found, despite trying 11, yes thats right 11 cash machines, that my EMA had not yet been deposited into my account..I think I was kinda hoping if I kept trying money would magically appear..ANYWAY, after much wandering about, James and I (yes I was with James - did I fail to mention this?) bumped into Steve twice, the second time he lent us monies for KFC! YAY for stevie ^_^

So much has happened in such a tiny space of time, I will give you a brief run down [to be expanded on at a later date!] on what exactly has been going on. (:

Okayyy so my last blog was roughly..200 days ago or so, so thats approx. 6 months give or take a few weeks..[I have a very, very strong feeling my maths is off here... :/] but back to the point! 6 months would take us back to roughly september time, however, I will give you the lowdown on the year before this seeing as I was not much of a diarist before hand, more of a rant and rave-er

January - June 2008:
Finale of my compulsory school career, followed by my 16th birthday in June (: rather good times me thinks.

July - September 2008:
Summer. I basically left school..bummed around for several months, then discovered college! Boy oh boy, the wonders, I went from being the geeky, oddball in the corner..to, well, being the geeky, oddball, everyone kinda knows.

October - December 2008:
Well, a fair bit happened here. I settled in to college, had many drunken nights and escapades, and a rather nice time. Followed by christmas, which was promptly ruined by my disfunctional family [my neurotic, alchoholic mother, my cynical, bitter, step father with anger managment issues, and many, many, feline friends]

January - March 2009:
Hmmm this leads me up to now.. Kind of odd, because I really don't remember much from the past few months.. I had several AS exams, and am currently awaiting the results [next week - eeee!], other than that life has pretty much been abit of a blur, going far too quickly, and far too slowley all at once. Someone who I think does deserve a mention however, would be my lovely boyfriend James [cue: awwwwh..followed by: yeuk ], one of my best friends at the start of college, who is now my best friend and boyfriend.

The country was in a state before hand.

But look at it now.

Our economy has gone down the pan, we are on the brink of a recession, things have not been this bad since the great depression which saw the wall street crash, millions unemployed, and men forced to become itinerant workers travelling across america for work.

There have been countless stabbings. In the past week. It is no longer deemed safe to go out at night, because of gang culture, and the dangers of being mugged, raped, stabbed, or beaten up.

Global warming is worse than ever. With cracks appearing in glaciers in the north pole.

So, what has our prime minister done?

Hes said we, as a country are wasting too much food.

How, does this issue affect knife crime, global warming, or the economy?

It doesn't.

Now I am not saying that the food wastage isnt important, however, if you do the maths, on average, we are wasting 4 pence of food per person, per day, now that is no huge crisis.

However, the recession, global warming, and knife crime, all are.

Is it not time for things to be done about these issues?

 Comments

Bitchy women

Women have always been bitchy right?

well lately I have begun to realise, that the only people on the receiving end of this bitchyness, are 'pretty' or younger women. So is jealousy the cause of hostile behaviour?

Recently I was shopping, and I noticed two girls, both looking at me with something resembling contempt, I hadnt so much as glanced in their direction, but girl 1 turnt to girl 2 whispering something, they both looked at me and laughed bitchily, now, Im not horribly disfigured in anyway, I dress normally, and I'm nice, I smile at people, I'm polite, etc. So what had I done to receive this unwanted attention?

The fact of the matter is, I'm average to good looking, naturally blonde, tall and thin.

So does this mean bitchy comments, glances and looks all boil down to jealousy?

Are women so insecure today, they need to pick at one anothers self esteem?

I think so.

What does this say about todays modern society?

A society where conversations go something like this:

woman 1: Have you seen that new model?
woman 2: Yes, great looking, but i heard shes no brain

Is this how we go about making ourselves happier?

By demeaning one another?

It is about time we sat up and took a good long hard look at ourselves and our behaviour.

 Comments

'stereotypes and teen subcultures'

Why is it that today it would seem no one can express a sense of individualism with out being pigeon holed into a stereotype or getting backlash from ones peers?

Now you know what stereotypes I mean:

- Emo
- Chav
- Gangster
- Prep
- Gothic
- Skater
- Trendy
- Towny
- Metal head
- etc.

The place it is hardest to be yourself is at school, especially secondary [high school] where you are constantly judged for what your wear rather than who you are, at my secondary school, it was particulary bad, a group ['clique'] of kids in each year group were the 'popular' ones, with neither individualism or personality, however, they made a lot of kids lives hell, bitching, bullying, and just being cruel, simply for the way people dressed and the music they liked.

What is up wih this?

Is it right to judge someone for what they wear and the music they listen to, opposed to the person they are?

Deep down, we all know the answer to this.
